Shapes coming to Bracken

We are rolling out a new update in Bracken shortly. In this update we are pleased to bring shapes, background colours and many other improvements to the Bracken authoring tool.

Bracken Shapes

We have added the ability to add pre-set Shapes to Bracken pages. The shapes can be resized, rotated, and styled in the same way that Cells can.

To insert a new shape:

  1. On the Bracken toolbar, click theMedia tab.
  2. Click the Shape dropdown.
  3. Choose the desired shape from the palette.
  4. The shape is inserted in the default location on the page.

We’ve chosen a selection of what we consider to be the most useful and frequently used shape pre-sets. Adding more is possible.

Restructured Menu

We have restructured the authoring menu to accommodate our latest additions. The media button has been replaced with the "add" button and when clicked produces options for media, interactions, analysis tool and new shapes.

Page background colour

It is now possible to assign a uniform background colour to a page.

To change the page background colour, on the Page tab, click the Background swatch. Then choose the page background colour using any of:

  • Predefined colour swatches (at right)
  • Previously used colour swatches (at bottom)
  • Use the colour sliders to choose a new colour

To remove the background colour, click the transparent swatch

Background colours applied to Master pages will not be applied to subsequent pages using that Master.

Stacked Radio and Checkbox sets

We’ve introduced a new option for displaying Radio Set and Checkbox Set interactions, allowing the options to be stacked horizontally. This layout is easily achieved by choosing stacked from the display style dropdown. This similar style has also been applied to mobile view.
